From 10-16 October, the Hivos programme Mideast Creatives, together with Coworking Camps, will be co-organising the first regional Coworking Know-How Camp in Cairo, focused on founders of coworking spaces in the MENA region.
Coworking spaces will play an essential role in our future economy. Each day, 6 new coworking spaces open their doors for the first time. Why? In a time when more people are starting their own companies, there is a need for places where they can meet and connect to work independently and to collaborate. Coworking spaces help by providing facilities for networking and act as hubs for start-ups with the potential to create jobs.
The Cairo Coworking “Know-How” Camp is a six-day event dedicated to connecting up frontrunner coworking spaces that are looking to improve their space experience and want to create a sustainable business model. During the camp, the founders will be working in small teams on their individual business challenges and will get support from their peer group. In addition, participants will work on transnational joint activities, such as a coworking online forum, a coworking visa for travelling coworkers and much more.
Camp participants will be also part of RiseUp Summit, Egypt’s first entrepreneurship summit on 13 and 14 October, expected to draw more than 3,000 visitors, which will give them an opportunity for exposure, investments, resources and advice.
The camp will focus on coworking space founders from the MENA region and international experts in the fields of community management, space design, business modelling, and other areas. Coworking space founders can apply now for the limited seats available.
